This 60-day online conversation has brought together today’s leading global and local voices as part of a unique social media relay to discuss the importance of strengthening the health of mothers and children around the world. At Mom+Social, we will gather to share the top issues that these women and men shared, and the global conversation that ensued. Six key themes we saw trend during the Global Mom Relay will frame a unique dialogue, in person and online: supporting maternal health, both physical and emotional; empowering and inspiring girls; addressing urgent issues that endanger women globally; ensuring maternal and newborn medical care; building strong communities; and uniting moms for change. Mothers want to address these issues for every family and every child. Together, the reach of social media and the power of motherhood have the potential to change a generation for good. Moms are on the frontlines of what is possible. That’s why they should be at the forefront of the global agenda. That is why you will be part of Mom+Social on May 8. Mom+Social is a special, one-day gathering focused on motherhood and the role of social media, technology and philanthropy to improve the health of moms and children everywhere. Hundreds of the brightest and most passionate people working to improve child, maternal and reproductive health will gather on May 8, 2013 at 92YTribeca in New York City to share ideas, raise awareness and inspire action.
