Think American Idol…for scientists! Hosted by cave diver Kenny Broad—National Geographic’s Explorer of the Year for 2011 and crowd favorite—FameLab is a live, panel judged competition to find the new voices of science around the world. The competition challenges early career scientists to hone their communications skills through training workshops and distilling their science into a 3-minute, PowerPoint-free presentation. Armed only with their wits and a few props, the result is an unpredictable, enlightening, and exciting evening of edutainment! Regional winners will face off in Grosvenor Auditorium, and the winner goes on to represent the U.S. in England in June at the FameLab International final.
