KEYNOTE: Big Data and the Cloud: We better get Security right
Mary Ann Mezzapelle, Security Strategist for HP Enterprise Services
With big data, cloud and the changing role of the CIO, security in the cloud in a complex matter. Information is the new business currency. Have you been able to turn the massive volume, velocity, and variety of “big data” into practical knowledge? How will you proactively manage information-related business opportunity and risk? Does your company have 'shadow IT' and have you assessed the exposure? With multiple providers, do you have the governance processes in place to understand the solutions and risk to the whole enterprise? In a hybrid environment, you'll be hard pressed to respond to business needs with necessary agility while minimizing the enterprise's risk posture. This requires managing the information explosion, understanding the changing services model, technology components, critical processes and taking an end-to-end view.
