On what would have been Mulgrew Miller’s 58th birthday, Dizzy’s Club Coca-Cola is proud to celebrate the life of the late, great pianist. This celebration, hosted by musical director Steve Wilson, features an all-star core band, with Kenny Barron, Johnny O’Neal, Anthony Wonsey, Sullivan Fortner, and Chris Pattishall on piano, and unannounced special guests. At Jazz at Lincoln Center, we believe that “because jazz is rooted in the blues, it inspires us to face adversity with persistent optimism,” and saddened as we are by the loss of Mulgrew Miller, we intend to honor him as he lived - in the joyful spirit of jazz, with great positivity, companionship, and musicality. On this special night, we welcome you to join the jazz community at Dizzy’s to celebrate the life and legacy of this beloved friend and musician.
