Joe Farnsworth, drums; Harold Mabern, piano; Eric Alexander, tenor saxophone; and John Webber, bass.
“Drummer Joe Farnsworth was especially impressive, conjuring a whole battery of cross-rhythms and yet always being a rock-steady support.”
- The Daily Telegraph
Joe Farnsworth is regarded as one of the top jazz drummers in the world, but as far as he is concerned, he is just getting started. He is dedicated to the great tradition of jazz drumming as conceived by artists like Max Roach, Roy Haynes, Elvin Jones, Billy Higgins, and Arthur Taylor, with whom he studied. Farnsworth was introduced to jazz at the age of 12 by his brother, trombonist and saxophonist John Farnsworth. Since then, he has become one of the most respected drummers in the scene, appearing on more than 70 CDs with musicians such as Wynton Marsalis, Cedar Walton, Pharoah Sanders, Eric Alexander, and Benny Golson. This performance features a prestigious and highly in-demand band that includes Harold Mabern, Eric Alexander, and John Webber, each a talented leader in his own right.
